We recently picked up a new Modern Warfare 2 team. Two previous VYE players are in the squad along with two new talented players. The team have struggled to keep players which fit in. The team hope to do well in the Console Call of duty scene. The team will be representing us at The European Games Event in October. The new and upcoming team consists of:
Mark 'souNd' Stimpson
Tom 'Solace' Luke
Elliot 'Elto' Johnson
Harry 'Popcat' Gordon
We are happy for this team to be playing under the VYE banner. We hope they do well and place well at EGE and do well to represent us. I spoke to Mark 'souNd' Stimpson about his decision to pick up two new players.
"After a long period of my and Solace trying other players and not working we finally have found two players that we play extremely well with i am looking forward the EGE trip in October and hope we Finish in a high placement."
Today VYE are happy to announce a new team joining us. The team are from the Counter Strike: Source scene and have an old face joining back. The face is infact David 'IceBox' Morris who was part of Enmity way back in 2008. He has been a crucial member of the Counter Strike: Source scene and was welcomed back with a new team into VYE. The team consists of:
David 'Icebox' Morris
Alex 'Green' Mattingley
Adam 'adM' Dowson
Nicky 'qw3rty' Stowers
Mathew 'graphix' Lewis
They will be representing us at i40. We spoke to David 'IceBox' Morris and this was what he had to say:
"I would like to say a big thanks to Joe and Mark, two sound blokes for giving us a chance in this wonderful organisation. With i40 up and coming and just round the corner we will be representing VYE at i40, which will be good for both ourselves and the organisation. This is a good organisation for us to be picked up by, such a good bunch of lads to have a brilliant management team will bend over backwards for you , and I've enjoyed playing under their management before. We hope to do well at the i40 with a top 16 finish which is our goal."
I also spoke to Joe 'RCN' Tuley about what he thought of the new team:
"I would like to introduce our new CSS team to VYE, After the rebrand we decided we really need to recruit some fresh young talent but also wanted one or two veterans in the team to guide and support them at the same time. Luckily enough Icebox came to me with a proposal and well it went from there. After the success of his pervious team back in 2009 with EnmityEsports we can not wait to see what happens in the future with his new team."
VYE is soon to release a new website. The current site has many problems that we didn't first encounter. The revamp will include: A totally new design and website system, store and other's details will follow.
We have noticed these bugs and various other problems and decided instead of fixing them, to just totally revamp the site.
The problems aren't just the reason, we also want a new look for the site. Below are what we are revamping:
The website:
Everything will be new, from the design to the content management system. The design will be even better than the current one and will not contain any problems. The system will be totally custom to us and will help us keep the site in good order. We hope to build better pages filled with more content and news every 2 days.
We hope to meet this target when the new site is released keeping you lot up to date.
I asked Joe 'RCN' Tuley what we can expect from the new website:
Joe 'RCN' Tuley wrote:
"The website, will be packed full of features ranging from integration with our new partners. We feel social networking is another great tool were going to be putting in, like facebook connect or twitter updates. Along with this we hope the custom CMS will allow us to pretty much change and adapt everything we need for the upcoming months and even years. As mentioned above the forum will be completly separate but with the same feel so hopefully we can get a really strong community building on there. Another feature we wish to add is RSS feeds from other esports websites to keep you up-to-date of information, instead of zipping to all of them we felt having them in once place would be really good. I don't want to leak too much out already but it's going to be worth the wait."
The forum: We are looking into having a forum which is ideally not built into the system. We are looking at vBulletin at the moment, the forum will be totally separate from the main website with a custom design. But to make it easier for you guys, the databases will be merged so your user profiles on the website will automatically be registered on the new forum. This is for ease of access which saves you a great deal of trouble.
VYE store: At the moment our store isn't really used, we haven't added many items. We are looking to make the store full of goodies for you to buy, including team apparel. Also we will be selling other various gaming items. This is one part of the site we have neglected and it's going to change. Apparel will include items of clothing which can be worn at LAN and various peripherals for your computer and console which can help you gaming experience get even better.
In general: With the new website we are also looking for new staff, the search has begun. We won't only just be looking for staff we will also be looking for new teams to represent us as an Organisation.
If you would like to have an opportunity as a staff member for VYE either message RCN or Mark on XBOX or by Email. Contact@myvye.net. Along with this we will also be announcing the new sponsors and partners for the 2010/11 season. This is a big step for us as we say bye to the old and hello to the new ones..
